Studying should be accessible to everyone – without unnecessary barriers! The “Enthinderung” (enabling accessibility) Office is committed to supporting students with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses by offering advice, assistance, and opportunities for networking, so you can navigate your studies with fewer obstacles and as little stress as possible. Our goal is to be by your side with guidance and support!
Whether you need help with compensation for disadvantages, accessible study conditions, or personal concerns – we’re here to listen and assist. If needed, we can also help with formal matters such as applying for a disability ID card, care level classification, or the "Eurokey" for accessible toilets. Additionally, we aim to create spaces for exchange and community building to foster a supportive environment.
Do you have questions or need support?
Feel free to reach out!
Vanessa
You can always reach me via email at: Vanessa.mueller@asta.hn
I'm also often around on the Mönchengladbach campus – feel free to come and talk to me if you see me!
At the moment, I don’t have fixed office hours, so email and speaking to me on campus are the best ways to get in touch.
If we arrange a time in advance, you can also meet me at the office on the Mönchengladbach campus.
All inquiries will be treated confidentially!
➔ If you have a disability and/or chronic illness, you may be eligible for compensation for disadvantages. This is arranged with the examination office of your faculty and can apply to your overall course of study, teaching, and/or exams.
➔ A disability and/or chronic illness can also impact scholarship eligibility, BAföG (student financial aid), or student health insurance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about this. If needed, I can refer you to our student finance office.
➔ If you need a break, each campus offers a Room of Silence, where you can meet your individual needs for rest, meditation, prayer, or personal reflection.
